HUT TO HUT SKI TOURING: stunning selection of alpine hut-to-hut tours

Hut-to-hut ski touring involves travelling through mountain landscape in winter on skis under human power rather than through the use of ski lifts, giving access to wild, isolated mountain terrain and a remote and pristine landscape that is rarely experienced by resort-based skiers. Ski touring with an IFMGA Mountain Guide maximises your enjoyment of the trip by ensuring you are accompanied by an expert in mountaincraft who understands the hazards associated with remote mountain travel. Travelling with a group on the tour provides a sense of cameraderie and the opportunity to meet fellow ski tourers. The principal mountain ranges in Europe – including the Alps, Dolomites, Pyrenees and Apennine Alps - are fantastic arenas for ski touring with very varied terrain. A network of manned huts provide food, heat and shelter therefore eliminating the need to carry large heavy packs.

SKI SAFARIS: lighter ski touring, more off-piste enjoyment!

Our Ski Tour Safaris are the ideal ski trip for anyone wanting a week of less demanding alpine ski touring without losing out on plenty of out-of-resort off piste skiing. You get to enjoy fantastic skiing, awesome scenery, great camaraderie with the aerobic activity toned down a notch or two! Instead of staying in mountain huts almost exclusively, you will stay in hotels and the occasional hut and will therefore be able to enjoy the luxuries of more refined accommodation. Each ski safari is 6 consecutive days of 6-7 hours of skiing and daily climbs may be 500-1000 vertical metres depending on the trip.

DAY SKI TOURING: ultimate backcountry touring and freeriding

The perfect combination of lift-accessed off-piste adventure and day ski touring. Our alpine day-long ski touring trips are exciting, guided ski touring holidays in the Alps that combine lift accessed off-piste skiing and day ski touring with the goal of providing the ultimate week of freeride adventure. We've based these guided ski tour holidays in a combination of world renowned resorts and lesser known areas all of which offer fantastic off-piste skiing and backcountry adventure. On these trips you'll usually stay in the same chalet or hotel for 6 nights out of 7 and spend one night mid-week in a high altitude mountain hut. All our day ski touring trips have 5 guided days and 1 non-guided free ski day, usually at the end of the week. These holidays are ideal for experienced off-piste skiers and ski tourers who are looking for a week of challenging off-piste and backcountry skiing with an average of about 2 hours of skinning each day.

SKI TOURING SKILLS: dedicated ski touring skills weeks and weekends

On our ski touring skills courses you will have the opportunity to safely learn and practice the essential skills you will need if you are planning on ski touring in an alpine environment. The courses are suitable for those with no prior ski touring experience and who wish to progress to ski touring in glaciated terrain and is ideal training for a tour later in the season. You'll also get the opportunity to meet like-minded people and discuss future ski touring adventures. And what better classroom than the glaciated terrain of the Alps! The courses cover route planning and navigation, skinning skills, glacier travel, crevasse rescue, transceiver training, recognising avalanche terrain and avoiding avalanches, emergency procedures and using crampons and an ice-axe.
