This list gives you an idea of the clothing and equipment you will need for an ice-climbing course in the winter or spring. If

Waterproof Jacket - full weight breathable model preferred
Thermal top and leggings
2 warm fleece jackets - or equivalent
Overtrousers - with 3/4 or full length side zips
Hat or Balaclava - must fit under a helmet
Thin Inner Gloves
Warm Ski Type Gloves – Spare pair just in case one gets wet
Spare Mittens - especially if you suffer from cold hands.
Footwear
Socks – a few pairs of warm socks
Gaiters
Winter Mountaineering “B3” Boots – must be crampon compatible
Technical Equipment (can be hired in resort or from guide)

Climbing Helmet
C3 Crampons (with anti-balling plates)
Technical Ice Axes (designed for steep ice-climbing)
