Planned Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Neustift. Meet up with the guides for welcome meeting, kit check and briefing on the itinerary for the week. Stay overnight in hotel in Neustift.
Day 2
Warm up morning on and off piste. Afternoon ski tour with 450m skin to Danukopf followed by ski descent down to Mutterbergalm. From here, take the cable car up to the Dresdener hut.
Day 3
From the hut we'll take the lift to Fernaujoch and ski down onto the Pfaffenferner glacier and with skins head up to Pfaffenjoch and Zuckerhutl, which at a height of 3,505m is the highest mountain in Tirol. Ski back down the same route to the Dresdener hut where we stay a second night.
Day 4
Dresdener hut - Danuscharte – Wütenkarsattel – ski to the Amberger hut. Stay overnight in the Amberger hut
Day 5
Traverse from the Amberger hut to the Franz Senn hut with the crossing of the Wildgratscharte saddle
Day 6
Day tour from Franz Senn hut – very large choice of tours there depending of conditions and skill/stamina of clients: Ruderhofspitz, Wilder Turm/Wildes Hinterbergl, Obere Holltalscharte, Ostl Seespitz.
Day 7
Tour under Östl. Knotenspitz or Kraulscharte and ski back to the hut and on down to the valley from where we get a taxi back to Neustift for the last night.
Day 8
Departure after breakfast
The itinerary may change at the discretion of the guide.
Price
The price includes 2 nights of B&B hotel accommodation in Neustift, 5 nights HB in mountain huts, 6 full days guide fees and expenses.
The price does not include lift pass, lunches, personal insurance, equipment hire, travel to/from Neustift.
Single room occupancy in the hotel on the first and last nights is subject to availability and will incur an additional charge. Contact us for details.
We estimate the cost of lifts and taxis during the tour at 60 Euros per person.
Guides and Group Sizes
All our ski tours are led by our team of IFMGA Mountain Guides. The team is led by Olly Allen, Matt Dickinson and Nick Parks. The maximum ratio for this tour is 6 skiers with 1 guide. The minimum group size is 4. The maximum is 12 with 2 guides.
Accommodation and meals
For this week you will spend the first and last nights in a hotel in Neustift. Our preferred hotel is the Sportpension Elisabeth which is located in the centre of the village. The other nights are spent in mountain huts where breakfast and evening meals are provided. The huts are renowned for their delicious food and good facilities. Both the Dresdener and Franz Senn huts have showers.
Arriving in resort
You should aim to arrive in Neustift sometime in the afternoon. There will be an initial briefing with your Mountain Tracks guide in the hotel at about 7pm on the first evening. This is an opportunity to meet the guide and the rest of the party, to discuss the plans and objectives for the week and to ask any questions you may have relating to the week’s itinerary.
