Courmayeur is situated on the Italian side of Mont Blanc at the top of the Aosta Valley.

It is a bustling Italian town with a car-free and a number of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and pizzerias.
It is well connected to North-Western Italy and access from Milan (approx 220km/2½ hours) and Turin (approx 150km/1½hours) is relatively straightforward along the A5 Autostrada.
Geneva Airport is just 100km (about 1½ hours) via Chamonix and the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
Courmayeur is just 30 minutes from Chamonx through the Mont Blanc tunnel.

La Thuile
La Thuile is about 15km by road from Courmayeur on the on the Italian side of the Piccolo San Bernardo Pass which leads across to the Tarentaise region of France.
La Thuile is not particularly well-known outside of Italy which has the advantage that during the week the slopes can be quite deserted. The ski area has some very good and accessible off piste.
